Author's comment:
As a kid, I built many of these toys and gadgets myself. Many items can utilize plastic lids, covers, packaging plastics,
all sorts of things we would normally toss away.
It seems like today with the ever-present cell phones and video games, many kids do not get the opportunity
to build meaningful things with their own hands.
And there is an over protective atmosphere as well. But in real life a child needs to attempt things, and experiment...
perhaps getting a nick or cut or scrape along the way, but in the end gaining a confidence and knowledge in
their ability to adapt and solve a problem, having fun and enjoyment along the way.
All this is part of the growing process, and using tools and building these gadgets will provide a feeling of
accomplishment and learning for kid and parent alike.
